Created as wearable art, and lovingly handcrafted with artisanal care, CAMILLA creations are designed as modern heirlooms to be passed down from generation to generation.

We use a wide range of specialised fabrications and luxurious trims, which each require their own specific care. Please always check the garment care label for specific care instructions.

Clothing care is a vital chapter in our quest to reduce our fashion footprint. Understanding how to care for your garment not only promotes its longevity and extends its precious life, but also helps protect our ultimate muse, Mother Earth.

Embellishments

CAMILLA is renowned for intricately applied artisanal embellishments, including hand-applied crystals, rhinestones, bugle beads, fine lace, threadwork and specialty embroidery. This ensures that each individual garment is truly unique. Over time, crystals may naturally loosen or detach with wear. To help preserve your piece, we include additional crystals and embellishments, allowing any lost trims to be replaced. We recommend treating these exquisite fabrics and details with care by avoiding contact with jewellery or sharp surfaces which will help maintain their beauty for years to come.

Dry Cleaning

Due to the delicate nature of our garments, we recommend using a specialist dry cleaner experienced with silk and other natural fibres.

Where possible, choose a GreenEarth® dry cleaner which offers a gentler, more sustainable alternative to traditional petrochemical methods.

GreenEarth® cleaning is non-toxic and gentle on fibres which helps preserve the delicate nature of our fabrics, prints, trims and embellishments which make our garments unique. Select an establishment which understands unique properties of specialty fabrics and employs expert techniques to clean without compromising their delicate qualities.

Storing & Travelling

To preserve the beauty of delicate fabrics, we recommend hanging your wearable artworks on padded hangers or storing them in garment bags when not being worn. Knitwear should be folded rather than hung to prevent stretching out of shape.

When travelling, we recommend a few storage and packing techniques to keep your CAMILLA pieces as crease-free as possible. Protect silks so they remain secure and unable to shift during transit. To soften folds, try bundle-folding by layering multiple garments flat in one stack and then folding them together. Alternatively, lay your garment flat, smooth away any wrinkles, and roll it tightly from the hem upward.

On arrival, refresh your delicate fabrics with a portable steamer or by hanging them in a steamy bathroom. For added protection, store them in our Silk Garment Bags which have been specially designed to keep your keepsakes safe between destinations.

Alterations

If you wish to alter your CAMILLA garment, we recommend using a trusted tailor experienced in working with delicate silks and embellished pieces. Upon request, your tailor can retain any excess fabric from the garment, which can be repurposed as a matching belt, scarf, or other accessory.

Pilling

Pilling is a natural characteristic of woollen fibres, caused by friction during wear. To care for your knits, turn them inside out before washing and avoid using fabric softeners. Should pilling occur, gently remove it by hand, with a fine comb, or a de-pilling tool to maintain the garment’s original appearance.

Static

Static occurs due to an imbalance in the electrical charges in different materials. It’s more common in dry air with low humidity. Natural fibres, such as linen and cotton are less prone to static buildup than synthetics. To prevent static, either lightly steam or spritz your garment with water from a misting bottle. Alternatively, you may use an anti-static spray.

SILK

Our signature silk is a luxurious fabric that prints beautifully and drapes effortlessly. It is naturally breathable and wicks away moisture. Silk is a renewable, biodegradable resource that uses less water, chemicals and energy than other fibres. It’s the founding fabric of our collections and has held our wearable artworks for 20 years. From silk satin and silk crepe to georgette and chiffon, each garment is meticulously considered for its finish and weight, ensuring the perfect match between silk and style.

How To Wash & Clean Silk

To maintain the softness and beauty of your silk, we recommend handling it with care and following the instructions on your care label. If a mark or stain occurs, act promptly. Gently blot or sponge the area to lift the stain, taking care not to rub the fabric, as this can set the stain further into the fibres or damage the delicate fabric. With timely and careful attention, your CAMILLA garment can continue to retain its original brilliance for years to come.

How To Care For Silk

We recommend regularly steaming your silk garment to remove wrinkles and refresh the fabric. Alternatively, you can hang your piece in a steamy bathroom or use a garment steamer to gently smooth and revitalise the silk. When not in use, store your CAMILLA garment on a padded hanger or in a garment bag to maintain its softness.

To preserve your garment’s exquisite lustre for as long as possible, keep silk in a cool, dry place and avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, soaking, or machine washing.

LINEN

Our linen pieces are naturally breathable and soften beautifully with each wear, developing a relaxed yet refined character over time. How To Care For Linen

Linen’s natural creases are a part of its appeal. Steaming may help remove some wrinkles, but for a smoother look you can lightly iron while slightly damp on a medium heat setting. When storing, fold your linen neatly - rather than hanging it - to maintain its shape, and store in a cool, dry place to prevent moisture. We recommend avoiding fabric softeners as they may weaken the fibres.

COTTON

Luxuriously soft and lightweight, cotton is a natural fibre offering breathability, structure and ease in care. We use a range of cotton fabrications, including 100% organic cotton certified by the Global Organic Textile Standard, which is produced through best practice, chemical-free farming which requires less water. Our certified organic cotton poplin offers the perfect base cloth for vibrant hues and rich colours.

How To Care For Cotton

Appropriate care will help keep your cotton garments soft, vibrant, and long-lasting. Steaming can gently ease wrinkles, while ironing inside out on a low heat setting can create a smoother finish and protect embroidery or embellishments. When storing, fold your cotton neatly rather than hanging to maintain its shape, and keep it in a cool, dry place to prevent moisture.

DENIM

CAMILLA Denim is created as wearable art and adorned with an array of artisanal embellishments, intricately applied by hand. This ensures that every item is truly unique.

It’s crafted from sustainable cotton and natural fibres sourced from certified producers by our family-run fabric mill in Türkiye, the denim capital of the world. Each luxury denim silhouette is masterfully cut and embellished by our manufacturer in Istanbul, which has a storied 60-year history of fine denim artistry.

Due to the delicate, highly embellished nature of our denim, please closely follow the care instructions.

How To Wash & Clean Denim

In order to achieve its inherent depth of colour—particularly in deep indigo hues—our denim is dyed in a process that may result in colour bleeding and gradual fading over time. Be cautious of allowing your denim treasures to rub against other surfaces, as sustained contact can release dye onto lighter coloured fabrics.

For longevity, and to prevent dye transfer to other items, we recommend washing separately and infrequently, especially during the first few washes and wears. Keep your CAMILLA Denim away from bleach, harsh chemicals, and abrasive cleaners. Always wash in cold water, using a mild, color-safe detergent. To reduce the frequency of washing you may steam to refresh the fabric between washes. When washing is necessary, always refer to the individual care label provided.

Air dry flat to maintain shape and prevent shrinkage, keeping the garment out of direct sunlight to avoid fading. Do not bleach, tumble dry, dry clean, or iron directly on embellished areas, as these processes can damage fibres and loosen delicate details. To remove wrinkles, lightly steam from a safe distance, avoiding contact with embellishments, or use a protective pressing cloth over unembellished areas before gently ironing on a low setting.

How To Care For Denim

As wearable artworks, CAMILLA Denim silhouettes contain delicate embellishments which may fall off, especially with rough treatment and repeated wear. We recommend being cautious during wear, as some embellishments may catch on loose threads, pull delicate fabrics and may damage some surfaces. Shedding crystals is a natural occurrence, which is why we supply additional embellishments with your purchase, which can be reapplied as needed. When storing, lay your denim flat or fold carefully in a garment bag to protect both shape and embellishments. Keep it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

ECONYL® is a sustainable premium Italian textile, made from salvaged ocean materials and post-consumer plastics. How To Wash & Clean ECONYL_®

Contaminants such as chlorine, oils, creams, and UV rays can break down fibres over time, so gentle care is essential to protect your swimwear. We recommend rinsing your pieces under cold water after wear and following the provided care instructions.

To help preserve the longevity of your garment, hand wash inside-out with a mild detergent while gently removing excess water without wringing or twisting. Dry flat in the shade to maintain the vibrancy of prints and embellishments. Ironing, dry cleaning, or tumble drying is not recommended, as these laundering techniques can compromise the fabric and precious detailing of your swimwear.

How To Care For ECONYL_®

To help maintain the longevity of your print and fabric, avoid suntan lotions, oils. When storing or travelling, only pack or fold your swimwear once it’s completely dry. Always store your swim pieces flat, and store in a fabric garment bag if you’re packing them away for the season.

WOOL, SILK WOOL & MERINO WOOL

Wool, silk wool and Merino wool are naturally breathable fabrics with highly flexible fibres that enable air flow. Our artisans choose the wool that best suits each silhouette and style.

When We Use Wool

Because of its ability to regulate body temperature and wick away moisture, we predominantly use wool for our heavier layering pieces, such as jackets, coats and outer wear.

When We Use Merino Wool

With its ultra-fine, antimicrobial fibres, Merino wool is ideal for lightweight layering and softer knit styles that make direct contact with skin. It has a natural stretch which holds shape perfectly.

When We Use A Wool Blend Such As Silk Wool

Wool blends are more wrinkle resistant. Silk wool has a beautiful drape that makes it suitable for our more tailored silhouettes, such as blazers. Our silk wool blend has a subtle sheen bringing elegance to our occasion wear.

How To Wash Wool, Silk Wool & Merino Wool

To maintain your wool’s softness and ensure its longevity, always follow the instructions on your garment’s care label. If your wool piece becomes marked or stained, gently blot the area rather than rubbing. For stubborn stains, we recommend consulting a professional cleaner. To prevent shrinkage, avoid tumble drying and refrain from excessive wringing or twisting.

How To Care For Wool, Silk Wool & Merino Wool

When storing, fold neatly rather than hanging, and keep in a cool, dry place - ideally in a breathable garment bag. Light steaming can gently remove wrinkles without direct heat. If ironing is necessary, use a low heat setting with a pressing cloth to protect the fibres. Frequent washing is rarely required; simply airing out your wool treasures between wears is often sufficient to maintain their freshness and elegance.

Highly sought-after for its softness, superior warmth and lightweight fibres, our artisans meticulously choose the finest cashmere fibres, before our master craftsmen skillfully weave them into CAMILLA knitwear styles.

How To Care For Cashmere
