IN THE DESIGN ROOM

MIDNIGHT MOON HOUSE

All our prints begin as pieces of art, lovingly created by our in-house artists. We take a look inside the world of CAMILLA, where colourful prints bloom and flourish first as watercolour, as seen in "Midnight Moon House".

BEHIND THE DESIGN

Jessica Stalanberg, TEXTILE GRAPHIC DESIGNER

“Our team is handed a design brief that sets the mood for each season: this is essentially a creative theme that will inspire the collection. This particular range was all about Tarot readers, space gardens and portals into luscious, faraway worlds. We sought out ancient books and dove within the pages to discover references."

"We begin the process by sketching the layout of each print, which provides us a structure to work within. Then comes the fun part; we all sit down and start drawing free-hand. All the CAMILLA tarot cards you see in Midnight Moon House were drawn free-hand with an array of fine line pens.”

"Once the drawings are approved, we scan them in order to create a digital piece. We play around with all the different elements, collaging them into the print layout until we create something we love."

"For this particular print, we digitally coloured the drawings and then added layers of watercolour that produce this divine textural element. We continually work on each print, ensuring we've pushed the creative boundaries and it is the best it could possibly be.”
